Round 1 – Foel Gasnach
Cyffyliog, Denbeighshire, LL152DR
This venue was first used for last years series and will be back for 2018 by popular demand.
The Club here is run by the Steve Hunter and his team from Foel DHR, and there are 4 trails on site ranging from 1.40-3 mins in length, and all natural trails with roots, steepness, and either wet or dry loam guaranteed!
We will be using the 4 trails run twice if the weather gods are kind to us, or if we do get wet weather we will drop the steepest trails and run 3 twice to make it 6 stages to count for your overall time.
Camping will be available for this event at a charge of £5 a night, this will be paid directly to the local farmer. A charge of £3 a rider, or £5 a vehicle will be made for parking to encourage van sharing as space is tight at the venue.
A practice day will be available on the Friday before the event and a charge of £5 for a day membership will allow you to ride under their insurance for the day. A annual membership costs £20 for the club and allows you to use this great venue year round.
Dyfi Forest, Machynlleth, SY209ND
Round 2 of takes us back to another venue first used during last years series the awesome Dyfi Forest on the outskirts of Machynlleth.
Expect more natural rooty goodness at one of the UK’S finest natural trail area’s with the promise of more new trails for the event.
Camping will be available here at a charge of £5 per night , this will be paid directly to the land owner. A charge of £3 a rider, or £5 a vehicle will be made for parking to encourage van sharing with the proceeds going to the Forestry Commission.
Coed Llandegla Forest, Ruthin Rd, Llandegla, Wrexham LL11 3AAC
No introduction required for this one, one of the most popular trail centres in the UK and was a huge success last year and the first time the venue has held a day enduro and we are stoked to be invited back in 2018.
A big loop, with 4 stages will test you’re fitness on this one and definetly one for the ‘Trail Centre warriors!’
No camping will be available on site during the event although there are plenty of camping spots just down the road – have a look on OPA’s website for accomodation for the event.
Gwydir Fawr (Marin Trail) Betws-y-Coed, Trefriw LL27 0HX
Round 4 takes us back to an old favorite last used in the 2015 Series the Old Marin Trail near Betws y Coed. Now named ‘Gwydir Fawr’ it includes one of the longest and best descents in Wales and of course we will have this as one of the stages!
No onsite camping for this event but there are plenty of camping and B&B spots in the nearby villages of Betws y Coed and Llanrwst.
A charge of £3 per rider, or £5 per vehicle will be made for parking and go directly to the Land Owners, parking space is tight for the event and car/van sharing will be a great help…..and save you money!
Coed y Brenin, Dolgellau, LL402HZ
Another venue that needs no introduction, the home of Mountain Biking in the UK.
The series finale will be another classic, and we will hopefully have a brand new section for you to test your skills and sort out the Series Overall results.
Plenty of options for stages here but will all remain a secret until nearer the time.
No Camping will be available on site but plenty of options locally as well as B&B’s near the venue.
A parking charge of £3 a rider or £5 per vehicle will go directly to the Land Owner and we encourage car/van sharing as space will be tight and it will save you money.
